Fall time

Fall is my favorite time of year.  This fall has been especially fun because Thomas has really been into fall things - leaves changing color, acorns on the ground, a trip to the mountains, pumpkins, football, candy corn.... the list goes on!  We made the most of Halloween recently with a trip to the pumpkin patch, trick-or-treating, and going to a costume party.  This year, Thomas was an astronaut complete with a space shuttle (Trey) and earth (me).  He's done a lot of talking lately about flying to the moon, blasting off, and being in outer space so the costume was perfect for him.

Pics to come of our trip to the mountain apple orchard!  Here are 2 random pictures I had to share with just one comment - Thomas loves this dog and thank goodness, she loves him!

He's 2!

It's so hard for me to believe, but Thomas is officially 2 years old!  His birthday, August 23, fell on a Thursday this year so we took the entire week to celebrate.  Over the weekend prior to his birthday, we took a trip to the regional airport in Greenville for lunch and airplane watching.  Katie and Martin met us there - it's actually a pretty popular place for people to eat lunch on Sundays - for the good food and fun.  Thomas was actually invited out onto the airstrip to check out a little two seater plane.  After that, we headed to the Greenville Children's Museum - what a wonderful place!  It is 3 stories of educational and fun kid activities, almost too much to do in one visit.  Thomas really enjoyed the car, grocery store, and farm areas - Trey and I even found some cool things to play around with!

The week that followed was full of birthday "special treats" and fun for Thomas.  Finally, on Saturday, the 25th we had his 2-year old party.  Of course, it was tractor themed, complete with tractor rides, tractor cake and cupcakes, and tractor lollipop favors.  T had a great time opening tons of gifts with the help of Jack, Olivia, and Audrey and then playing with all those new toys.  He completed the night with a romp around the house in his elmo towel - it was truly strange but hilarious.  I think Thomas enjoyed celebrating his "happy day", as he refers to it and that's what matters most!

At the boys table!
